I once took a class and learned to make what we
called a “circular valance”. I have lost the pattern
and would love to have another one. The top stretched out
the width of the board and, when cut, it naturally had fullness.
That would be our Chantilly Valance 9210.
The pattern says it is not suitable for stripes,
how about plaid?
Plaids are more than one set of stripes. Stripes and plaids
would fall at undesirable angles.
Can I put a trim on the bottom edge of the Chantilly?
Lightweight trims are ok, but since the valance is cut from
circles, heavy trims will cause the valance to sag in the
extreme bias areas. If you want to use trims, use a fabric
stabilizer.
How can I determine how much trim I will need?
There is no formula. You will need to measure the bottom edge
of the valance.
How can I convert this valance to a pole mount?
Use only about 1” at the top for mounting. Sew loop
tape to the right side. Mount to the back of the pole to hook
tape.
