When the instructions say cut the pleats open between the deep stitching am I to butt both layers of fabric or just one layer to expose the contrast fabric? Is the deep stitching the line that was marked in the center of the pleat 2 ½” from the gathering line? The drawing in the special instructions section denotes a pleat as one line. Is that denoting the nine inches the pleat actually takes up on the fabric?
Cut the “seam” between the deep stitching. This is the center of the pleat. You can’t turn the fabric right side out until you do this.
