Window #297 Print
Page 2C-41

I need to get further instructions for a window in your Supplement 4, the window is #297. It does not tell you how wide to make the swag or what depth to make the arch on the valance. Could you please give me some advice?
The way the book works, on back of the page (page 2C-42) the pattern information is given. You need to refer to the yardage pages of the patterns given to know the size limits. The yardage pages are in Part 1B, on back of the cover sheets.
I do have the yardage I am looking for the information regarding the size of the swag say for example the window is 42” wide. The window treatment is in “Supplement 5” the window is #297
The top paragraph of the yardage page gives the size range of the patterns. The swag used in window 297 is the Parisian 9279. The yardage page tells you the swag width size is 18” to 30”. This means the swag used in #297 can be 18” or up to 30”. Use whichever size within that range that works for your window. The cornice used is 9248 (CP-1). The yardage page tells you one repeat can be 33” or more. It also shows 3 alternative arch sizes. You can use any of them that works for your window.
In the picture it shows that the Parisian swag is smaller than the cornice (9248) width that is what I mean regarding the size. Does that make more sense.
I always draw the pattern items to scale so the reality is there. Upon going to my master copy of that drawing, the cornice is 42” and the swag is 28”. That doesn’t mean you are restricted to those measurements.
