I am getting ready to make window 398, which is a combination of the Oxford Arched Valance and the Jackson Valance. My question is this; since I am using the side jabot piece from the Jackson valance, and my medallions will have a 3.5” projection, do I still need to allow for the 3.5” side return on both the jabot piece and the end piece of the Oxford valance pattern? Or do I just need to allow for the return on the jabot? There is NO return on the original jabot piece for Oxford valance, do I not even need a return for the Jackson jabot piece?
Use a return on the Jackson only. I doubt if you will need the entire 3.5 but it is better to have too much than not enough. At installation fold under the extra and tack in place. It will just add more fullness.
